Why Sports Clubs love Cadbury® Fundraiser

Recently we asked our community what they liked best about Cadbury® Fundraiser. We received many stories from members about their fundraising experiences. Some are inspirational, some are funny and some just touch our hearts. Below is one story we’d like to share with you.

From Abby, why she fundraises:

"The Kerang Football Club held a fundraiser to raise money for a boy in our community with cancer. Every year we hold a club 'family day' but this year we gave back to the community. A ll the money that was raised went towards the family in need. It was a great day to get together and support the cause against cancer."

Congratulations to the winners of Cadbury Fundraiser’s Sports Club Promotion

The Mitcham Hawks Junior Football Club of South Australia was pretty excited to win. The club has 115 players in 7 junior teams who have played a solid winter season. They tell us they’ll probably use the prize money for new equipment, guernseys or night-lights.

Queensland’s Beenliegh Junior Football Club is only 8 years old and already has 175 junior members in 11 teams. Their winter season has been huge with many teams reaching the finals. They’ll use their prize for a new match timer, a coffee machine, tables and chairs and a new PA system. Sounds great to us.

Thornleigh Sports and Recreation Club’s Basketball Division in Sydney’s northern suburbs is chuffed they’ve won $5000 in Cadbury Fundraiser’s Sports Club Promotion. The club’s membership starts at age seven up to adult men and women. We think it’s a slam-dunk they’ll use their prize to run some coaching clinics for the club.

Hobart Students' success in Quikstix National Schools Hockey Cup

For the last four years, Elizabeth College in Hobart has sent hockey teams to Canberra to compete in the Quikstix National Schools Hockey Cup. Enthusiastic students ran a Cadbury® Fundraiser chocolate drive to help fund their last trip. Student Harry Laughlin sold a record breaking ninety-six boxes of Cadbury® chocolate within his community!

The tournament was a huge success for Elizabeth College. The Under 16 Girls Team won first place and the Under 18 Mixed Team sored fourth place. Well done from all of us to them!

This year Elizabeth College is again using Cadbury® Fundraiser to help send two teams to the Quikstix National Schools Hockey Cup. We wish them all the best of luck.
