Schools Fundraising

Why schools love Cadbury Fundraiser

Recently we asked our community what they liked best about Cadbury Fundraiser. We received many stories from members about their fundraising experiences. Some are inspirational, some are funny and some just touch our hearts. Below are some of our favourite stories which we’d like to share them with you.

From Belinda, a funny fundraising story:

"I delivered a hamper to the winner after a school fundraiser. When I arrived, the winner wasn’t home so I knocked next door, hoping to leave it there. The neighbour opened the door and screamed, shouted and hugged me, she’d also entered and thought she had won! It’s funny now, but it was terrible then to explain she hadn’t won."

From Emily, why she fundraises:

"I am trying to raise money to help a small child from my son's school who has recently become paralysed and needs a wheelchair. It is very important to me to help children realise their dreams and show them love when life just seems too tough."

From Allison, why she fundraises:

"The playgroup my three kids and I have been attending for four years. Our eldest has a congenital heart defect for which there is no cure though he has had three open heart surgeries to extend life. Our playgroup allows me to see my sons enjoy life together and with friends right before my eyes, it's priceless and fundraising for a Big Xmas Party for Playgroup is exciting."

Educating Alexis Fund

It costs a great deal to provide special needs child Alexis with the right kind of education, but with a loving family and Cadbury Fundraiser to help she is well on the way. Members of Alexis’ close knit family and friends pitch in by selling boxes of Cadbury Fundraiser products at their workplace. Alexis’ Uncle introduced Cadbury Fundraiser to the family team who have raised over $11,000 over the last two years. They found that work colleagues are happy to put in a dollar here or there as not only do they know they are helping a great kid, but they get a great Cadbury snack as well.

Luther College wins $5000

Luther College wins $5000 prize

Luther College was delighted to learn that it had won the recent Cadbury promotion with a prize of $5000.

Luther College has been raising money through Cadbury Fundraising for approximately 5yrs and has raised close to $10,000! During this time we have been able to use the funds for a variety of causes including an annual Aboriginal Cultural and Service trip for students and a Care Ministry fund. This fund enables us to provide meals and assistance to students, families and staff within the Luther Community who are ill for extended periods of time and/or may be undergoing lengthy medical treatments.

The prize money will allow us to expand these existing programs as well as purchase new equipment and resources for various areas within the College.

Luther College thanks Cadbury for creating the opportunity to win this fantastic prize. Cadbury has a wide range of products to choose from that are instantly recognized and very popular. We look forward to continuing to raise funds through Cadbury Fundraising well into the future

Dubbo West Pre-school rises from the ashes

The community-run Dubbo West pre-school burned to the ground in August 2008, a devastating blow for 160 children, their families and the dedicated teachers. "We are the ones dealing with the heartache - it was our kids' stuff that went up in smoke," said Parent Committee member Kylie Field. After the success of a past Cadbury Fundraiser drive, Kylie ordered 120 boxes two days after the fire and in a short time raised $3024 (including bonus boxes) with the help of a local business.

"Our profits will go toward all the outdoor materials - new turf and new plants for the garden," Kylie said. "At the moment it's just direct but we are hoping building of a new pre-school will begin soon."
