The Lions Club wins $2000 with Cadbury Fundraiser

The Lions club in Gungahlin, ACT raises funds for The Ayui Foundation, who provide a home, education opportunities and future pathways for disadvantaged Akha hill tribe youth in Thailand.

"Thank you so much for your wonderful surprise this morning - the $2,000 will go a long way to assist the Ayui Foundation, an organization established in Chiang Rai, Northern Thailand, that opened a hostel for poor, at-risk, Akha hilltribe teenagers, mostly from single-parent families, promoting the importance of education. They support both boys and girls of any religion (Buddhist, Christian and traditional believers in animism), aged 11 and older, and focus on providing practical support, educational opportunities and a safe, warm and loving environment for hilltribe adolescents."

"I would really like to thank Cadbury for the opportunity to assist these wonderful young people who would otherwise have little or no opportunities in life."

Western Australian Charity wins $2000 with Cadbury Fundraiser

Local Western Australian charity mytime@milligan in Bunbury has won $2,000 courtesy of Cadbury Fundraiser.

mytime@milligan in Bunbury supports local parents, grandparents and carers who aid young children with special needs, including a disability, developmental delay or chronic medical conditions. Cadbury Fundraiser’s $2,000 prize will help mytime@milligan continue to up-skill families with information, workshops and resources.

This was the first time mytime@milligan had run a Cadbury Fundraiser drive and with a stroke of beginners luck they won the $2,000 cash grant.

'We were very excited to win! We thought running a fundraiser prior to Easter would be great and it was very successful. The families have enjoyed selling Cadbury Fundraiser chocolates'.

Young Voices of Melbourne

Young Voices of Melbourne is one of Australia's leading children's choirs and have been a Cadbury® Fundraiser customer for about seven years. Fundraising coordinator, Barbara O'Leary said, "My son is the director of Young Voices and so raising funds for the group is a real passion for me and every cent earned goes back into training, touring and putting on fabulous shows. We usually sell between 200-300 boxes each year. Last year we sold 187 boxes and raised $4584 and this year we have plans to sell even more. Thanks Cadbury Fundraiser, we couldn't do it without you!".

Why Communities love Cadbury® Fundraiser

Recently we asked our community what they liked best about Cadbury® Fundraiser. We receive many stories from members about their fundraising experiences. Some are inspirational, some are funny and some just touch our hearts. Below are some of our favourite stories, we’d like to share them with you.

From Rebecca, on her fundraising success:

"The simple Freddo allowed our homegroup to fundraise enough money to not only build a water well for a remote community in Africa, but set up a fishing farm in Indonesia. It's exciting to know that a little frog can bring joy to more than those who consume it."

From David, on his favourite Cadbury® Fundraiser product:

"I have to say Freddo’s best (any variety). I use them as currency. For example; when colleagues help me I reward them with Freddos. Problem is, word got out and everybody wants to help - I have little work now. I need to keep a close eye on stock as my little "Chocolate Economy" could easily collapse should I run out!"

From Kathryn, why she fundraises:

"I love to raise funds for The Cancer Council due to the enormity of cancer and how it affects so many lives. Mine especially, with my father fighting bladder cancer, and losing our brother-in-law to leukemia in 2005. I want my children to grow in a time where cancer is curable."

From Althea, the organisation she fundraises for:

"What I like best about supporting Victorian SES (Ballarat Unit) is that it supports my community. Every member is a volunteer, and they give their time and efforts to help out others in our community in times of need - like when there are storms. They also assist other emergency services when requested, and educate our children to stay safe."

From Gayle, why she fundraises:

"The smile on their faces! That is the just the best. Keeping frail aged and those with disabilities in their own homes. Providing entertainment and support. Helping those who care for them to have 'time out'. These people are my heroes. Their ability to keep happy when there are so many demands and stresses in their every day lives. And do they love the chocolates that we issue to them as bingo prizes! Whether they enjoy themselves, give them to their carer or save it for grand children. Chocolates, especially Cadbury are always a winner! Thankyou for the opportunity of sharing with you."

From Alison, the organisation she fundraises for:

"I enjoy being part of the Mudgee Cancer Support group because we are working together to make a difference in the community. Most of our fundraising money comes from your wonderful Freddos and last year we bought equipment for Mudgee Hospital Palliative Care unit. This year we are buying equipment for the hospital's Chemotherapy Ward. Thank you Cadbury Fundraiser."
